The EKRR Annual Dinner was held recently on 15 November 2008, with ex Grade One Referee John Rowbotham and Scotland's Top After Dinner Speaker John Gahagan speaking at the event, which was superbly MC'd by East Kilbride's own top entertainer Cliff Smith.
It was once again a night to remember and we all look forward to meeting up again on 28 November 2009.
The Annual European Open Golf Championshi[ took place recent in early October 2008 at Vilamoura in Portugal and it was the best tournament so far.
The first round was played over the picturesque Pinhal course and after a great day's play, it was Paul "Windy" Millar who took the honours playing with Colin "The Boss" Thomson.
The second round was played at the Tougher Millennium course and it was a major surprise when "The Boss" turned in a great round of golf to pick up the prize for the day. He sure has come a long way since he was known as CT 147.
A great time was had by all and anyone wishing to know what went on behind the scenes can read the blog on Boys and and Banter.

Friday 8 August seen the Annual Ryder Cup Challenge take place at Thornhill Golf Club near Dumfries and a great day was had by all, and even the weather was good. The Young Team led by Captain Paul "Windy" Millar retained the Trophy by the narrow margin of 10-8, a scoreline which could have been so different if Alex "Not Ringo" Lowe and his playing partner Davie "Ace" Carlin had kept their nerve on the final two holes, but alas it was not to be. So well done to the boys and roll on next year.
Well done to Davie Carlin for his great hole in one at the Par Three first hole and even better that he reminded to bring his wallet to buy everyone who travelled a celebratory pint. Seemingly bringing his wallet is as rare as the hole in one.
